One of my favorite sessions to date, the Vanourny family was a dream to document. First time parents, Kyle & Rachel, invited me into their home on a cold afternoon last winter. Kyle's hands-on involvement as a new father was apparent from the get go. Jack catnapped off and on for most of the session. The care with which his dad handled him spoke volumes to me as I quietly observed. It was easy to see that they had developed a deep bond already, evidenced by the sweet moments captured throughout.

At 7 days new, baby Jack was the sweetest little guy. Super chill, he cooed and snuggled his way through our time together. I love that the peace and unstressed vibe of this little family shines through in these images. It is 100% true to them and who they are.

One type of session isn't better than another. Nor is one style or method of photographing. However, I have a passion and a drive for capturing details. Raw and real human moments and connections. In home sessions have quickly become the kind of creative work that fills my soul and makes my heart sing. Not only do I have the chance to meet and encourage all of these incredible parents, but I get a few baby snuggles as well, and the end result is a gallery of gorgeously emotive images that tell your perfectly unique story.
